We had our first christmas party for our forum. http://pinoyvolunteers.proboards46.com/ What a site! Thanks Kim Domingo for putting up this site, although the administrator was not able to make it. Most of us had a great time, eating, chatting, drinking! Looking forward for more activities next year!!!

Refresher Course (Preparation for New Year's Celebration)

We had our training last December 16 2007 at the grounds of former Pacific Glass Warehouse, our men and as well as the volunteer firefighters of Barangay Emergency and Disaster Response Unit. (BEDRU) of Barangay Barangka Itaas. We trained them the basic of fire science and basic firefighting techniques.

In Preparation for the upcoming new year celebration, Maybe you ask why preparing for a new Year celebration? Because in the Philippines, we celebrate it with a bang. Fireworks are the main character for this event. Thus fires are rampant this day. So inline with it we prepare for it to response immediately in any case of fires that will broke out this night of revelry.

10-70 at P. Tuazon st. cor 20th Ave, Cubao QC

The fire gutted a residential commercial area in P. Tuazon st. cor. 20th Ave. in Cubao Quezon city, Almost a hundred families have been evacuated. As of the photo time there were no injuries nor fatalities have been reported. As well as the cost of the damage.

This the highest alarm we have recieved so far (Task Force Charlie). And we hope that this would be the last.

This was taken at the back of the fire scene. Only one unit is suppressing in this area.

Engine Busted follow-up.

Thank god for his help, we are able to get a replacement on time and now on the process of fixing it to our platform. Just in time for the 31st operation. . .

There is really a miracle in thought processes and manifestation of what we want. Just in time for our training this sunday.

Engine Busted again . . .

What a crap! We got again another busted engine for our pump, We have already spent almost have the price of a brand new engine. And yet it is still not running (Loose Compression). This is really a bad news for me, after a long weekend of stress from my personal problems.

The bad thing is we have a deadline to make. Dec 31! The New Year revelry, for most of firefighters specially volunteers this is our day. Because most fires occured in this day while others are merrymaking and welcoming the new year.

It is already december 12 and the 31st is fast approaching we are cramming for another engine, God please help us, help other. We need to protect the community . We dont want to caught empty handed.

I know this is another challenge for us. . . It will keep our teamwork to the test.

Our Fire Apparatus

This is our fire apparatus an ISUZU V275 Tanker with 10,000 ltrs Capacity, and with a 5R engine pump attached to it. We got this on loan from the Central District Fire and Reacu Group which headed by Mr. Aldrin Cuna, Lester Ong, Cogie and co.

This is a dream come true to us, after 5 years of working hard to achieve it, We did it in Oct. 05, 2006. Since then everything is history, We are the first Volunteer Fire Brigade which is an NGO that have achieved this.

I salute all Freedom Firefighters for achieving such feats.

A day in a Disaster Response Mock

We had a chance to join the Office of Civil Defense and other Local Goverment Units like Taguig, Pasig, Pasay, Makati and other volunteer groups. This is the 2nd cooperative response in times of distress we need this experience and be able to save lives properly and systematic. Systems in times of chaos that's what we rescuers and firefighters are trained for.
